This is for the PETA people who responded so angrily to my last post http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqCjz1czw6x1FEufyN5g.mHsy6IX?qid=20060607074100AA4UKik

Note I don't wish any actual harm. These are HYPOTHETICAL people, just as were the hypothetical primates in my previous question.

Assume you have reconfigured a particle accelerator to accelerate humans to near-light speeds.

You wouldn't hear anything. Objects, even human objects, moving near the speed of light are in a vacuum.

However, if the subjects in question were lawyers, right after impact, you'd hear the sound of several people applauding.

:P

The initial sound would be that off a solid thud. That would be the skulls and rib cages making contact with the opposing force and becoming fused together (given that the rate of speed was fast enough). The next sound you would here would be that of a combination of ripping off a band-aid and tearing apart a freshly made grill cheese sandwich. That sound is caused by the newly infused objects in motion, continuing to release the energy caused by the initial impact and separating either over-top/beneath one another or hitting making contact (the original thud noise) and bouncing off one another. Hope this helps.

I think it would be a squishing, crackling, crunching sound ... followed by a few seconds of groans and gasping for air, then a soft general oozing, dripping sound.

Then the sound of a mop or a wet/dry vacuum.

If you're refering to THOSE humans, they would make an awful lot of noise before they actually SPLAT !

Oh yeah, and:

I will get my VirtualPrimateCollision 2.0 simulator right on that, and get back to you with the results.

"you are sick. Animal testing isn't a joke, it's serious and lots of times wrong."

they would scream & holler, then when they hit you would hear a bone shattering thud, the sound of skin bursting, & then the sound of all of the bodily fluids raining down on the floor.
