I got a very good idea, but you'll need lots of plants.

First, get a rat/mouse/hamster and place it in a closed tank full of plants.

As these creatures require oxygen to live, we can test for the presence of oxygen by checking if it survives for at least an hour.

Also, remember to place the tank in a sunny area ([pray that the mouse doesn't get heat stroke =])

Yeah, and an additional fact is that oxygen supports burning, thus it is able to rekindle a glowing splint.

Well, you put a plant in a sealed container that has a gas meter that can measure oxygen content. You then promote it to do photosynthesis, and measure the amount of oxygen from before the plant starts photosynthesis and then through the process of photosynthesis.

Take a glass or aquarium with a plant growing in it, collect released oxygen and prove that it is oxygen by burning.

You could tie a bag devoid of a good amount of material around a few leaves - when it fills up, you can try to burn things in it to prove that it is oxygen.
