These are my fav jazz artists.....

Oscar Peterson
Django Rheindhart
Jimmy Smith

You are best of going onto amazon.com or something similar and testing out various artists once you find something that pleases your ears you can use the recommendations to discover other artists. Nothing beats a bit of live jazz tho!

This album contains a few classic jazz numbers just search for it on amazon......

I'd start with Duke Ellington's "Take the A Train" or "Satin Doll." Find the big-band versions of these songs: they'll give a taste of the different instruments that exist in a band, and then you can see which one you really like.
If you think you're digging piano after these, try Count Basie's "One O'Clock Jump," or " 'Round Midnight" by Thelonius Sphere Monk.
If you think the trumpet is hot, start with Louis Armstrong "St. Louis Blues" and then move to Miles Davis' "All Blues."
If you like the saxophone (my axe of choice), start with Charlie Parker's "Yardbird Suite" or John Coltrane's "Giant Steps," and go to Wayne Shorter's "Wild Flower."
Those are probably the two best ways to start with jazz: specific instruments, and specific artists. From there, you can go to specific styles--like swing, Dixeland, Chicago, blues and so on.

Go to Digitally Imported and listen to the Jazz station. It says the name of the song that's playing, and if you like the song you can buy that artist's album.

Look for a Jazz collection CD on Amazon or you local music store
