If you are over 18 then tell them with your head up. If you are over 20 tell them quickly they probably don't want you there any more. If you are under 16 please reconsider.

If you are 18 or over and have a good job and some savings, just say I'm ready to move out on my own and experience my Independence.

tell your parents, their job was to give you life, give you love,
then to step aside and let you free, let you be an independant person, to raise you so that you will be a person who is not dependant on them for ever more, only when you have that freedom , can you truely know their love.only then can you go out and be some one.. for it is what has created you. a whole other person, seperate from their life, with your own desires your own joys, your own lessons to be learned.a person that does not need to lean on them forever, let them know they have created you so wonderfully, to be dependant on them forever, would be to be a person incomplete of life.for both you and your parents, the day this is realized, great relief and freedom can be felt, for in the same way you are independant, they will not have to dimish and weigh down their joys to constantly see you happy and living well.

and of course, being able to look after yourself properly before you seek to move on is a start.and if you are under 16, stick it out , because they are your parents for a reason.

If you are over the age of 18 then it should be no problems telling your parents that you want to live on your own. They might even be thrilled to have you out on your own. If you are under 18 then you really have no business being on your own. It is a really cruel world that sometimes adults can't even make it on their own. I wish you all the luck, but while you are young take advantage of it because you still have so many life lessons to learn before going out on your own.

if you're over 18 just tell them it's time you left the nest. You could buy them icecream. Very few people can get angry while eating icecream.

I don't recommend leaving until you graduate from high school. It's too easy to just drop out. I didn't drop out, but of the people I hung out with in middle school everyone who moved out on their own dropped out, well one person "withdrew", but my point is they didn't graduate, and some made it to senior year before they left.

If you are 18 and over, just do it in a direst and straightforward manner. There is no other way. If you are afraid, this is an indication you are unsure of yourself, and that you are NOT ready for such a move.

you should first prove to your parents that your responsible enough to be alone, that you can handle complicated things, you can take care of your self, and most is ofcourse you have your own job to spent to pay for the rentals and buy your food... its really hard to be so called independent...
