I think I heard a song about this once....

Anyway, love is scientifically an emotion invented to explain severe attatchment to a person, place, or thing. Religions, philosophers, and people in media have all put their own spin on what "true love" really is.

My advice: Don't confuse love with lust. You may be attatched or attracted, but that's not all that "love" is about.

True Love is not something you just go pick up. It is when 2 people find each other and find things to share with each other and can also allow space for both to grow but, at the end of the day you want to be with only that person. You build hopes, dreams and alife together. Give it time it will come. Just do not act to fast be sure first. All the Best.

Love is love. It cannot be compared with anything else. Its deep. Falling in love a great feeling. It seems as if you're falling into an endless sky. Love is tender, gentle and kind. Its not only between two lovers but it's for your country, for your people, for your parents, for your friends, for humanity, love for GOD and of course love for every living being(say ur pets). Love cannot have a small definition. I won't be exaggerating if I say words are few to explain love.
There is no word like true love. Its like water which is pure. You can't call it more pure coz' its already pure. So love is always true, if it's not then its infatuation. As for true love you don't go look for it. The more you look for it, the farther it goes from you. So don't look for your true love. Remember "time" is always there with "love". So don't look for your true love. Let the time come and true love will find you. Adios...

Love can not be put in to words.. but you will know when you find true love..there are butterflies in your stomach and you can not wait for the next time you see that person.
In some cases love is overrated and be careful because to guys love can be just a 4 letter words they use to lure you in..
good luck!

Real love is an action not a feeling. It is work and commitment not a feeling. When you find true love its about finding a partner that will work with you to maintain a healthy commited relationship that can endure time.

There are a plethora of awnsers to that question. What is love? Can emotion be defined? Since emotions differ in each individual, can you really slap a definition to it?

Love is supposedly has something to do with a combination of emotions, attachment, and Maslow's heirarchy of needs. If the person provides safety, comfort, affection, etc., it can be considered love. This is another one of those questions you have to really awnser on your own though. What do YOU think love is?

true love is being able to trust who you are with and know that they trust you right back.Another example is they like you the way you are and don't like you just cuz you have a huge a$$ or big breasts. Also you can find true love anywhere basicly and just know that if it was ment to be then they would love you

According to Robert Sternberg's research, "Love" is an emotion consisting of three components: intimacy, passion & committment.

Intimacy, the feeling close and connected to someone (developed through sharing and very good communications over time). Intimacy is what makes you want to share and offer emotional and material support to each other.
-Intimacy alone is Liking (true friendship without passion or long-term commitment)

Passion, the feeling physically aroused and attracted to someone. Passion is what makes you feel "in love" and is the feeling most associated with love. It also rises quickly and strongly influences and biases your judgment.
-Passion alone is Infatuation (passionate, obsessive love at first sight without intimacy or commitment)

Commitment, pledging to your self and each other to strengthen the feelings of love and to actively maintain the relationship. Commitment is what makes you want to be serious, have a serious relationship and promise to be there for the other person if things get tough.
-Commitment alone is Empty Love (decision to love another without intimacy or passion)

Romantic Love: Intimacy & Passion, no Commitment
-Lovers physically and emotionally attracted to each other but without commitment
-“As in a summer romance”

Companionate Love: Intimacy & Commitment, but no Passion
-Long-term committed friendships or a marriage in which the passion has faded
-I love you but I’m not IN love with you

Fatuous Love: Passion & Commitment, but no Intimacy
-Commitment based on passion with without time for intimacy to develop
-Shallow relationship such as a whirlwind courtship

Consummate Love: A complete love consisting of all three components
