I would say, it's not "THE NORM" but it certainly is normal. I personally think it's great. Just take a look at, as you say, "everyone around her is doing it". How many of "those girls" have gotten knocked up, had abortions, had babies, have herpes, or other STD's? How many of them have prayed to God for their period to come or have sneaked to the drug store to buy a pregnancy test? How many have worried themselves sick with all the consequences associated with sex? This bright gal, has never had one of those worries. She has saved herself a lot premature wrinkles and gray hairs. She doesn't have to worry about an HIV or pregnancy test. Just think about how wonderfully simple her life is.

Is this some sort of insecurity on your part? Is there a lack of commitment and spirituality in your sexual relations? Could it be that you made a MISTAKE by not holding on to your virginity longer?
"Normal" is not an appropriate way to consider someone's choice about when to start sexual activity. For some, it may be normal to never initiate a sexual relationship. It is still a valid choice. For others, it may be normal to start sexual activity in their early to mid teens (I am not suggesting this applies to anyone in the USA, but there have been, and perhaps still are, cultures where this is normal and acceptable).
I fear that for all of the knowledge of the mechanics of sex that is out there, there is a dearth of knowledge about the psychological and spiritual aspects of sexuality that are far more important than the mechanics.

more guys than they would like to admit...;)Of course it's normal for a girl to be a virgin at 23!!23 is not 100!!!Sex is something that can give you a lot of joy,if done right...But if you get a bad start,it can affect the rest of your sex life. And trust me, you don't want that!!It's really difficult to fix a bad attitude when it comes to sex.You can do it all wrong and not even realise it.So...it's waaaaaay better to have sex whenever you are ready, compared to having sex because everybody does it, and then suffer for the rest of your life.I know u heard it before, but there is only one "first time" in sex, and it decides how your sex life is gonna be,so you better make it worthwile!!Oh...and...DON'T DO IT WITH HIM IF HE SAYS THAT YOU ARE TOO OLD TO BE A VIRGIN!!!he's a jurk;)Oh,i'm sorry...tell your friend what i've just told you..she'll be glad to hear it;)

There's nothing wrong with being a virgin at the age of 23. Personally, I lost my virginity long ago, but I applaud you for waiting until you truly feel that you're ready.
If anything, just give her small hints telling her she needs to date more.

Good for her !
I would not ask, is it normal but is it exceptional and yes she is.
Too many girls want to follow their peers or surrender because of what everyone else is doing. This girl is clearly making a stand on her own two feet and saying what she herself wants to do!
She will earn respect and she will never be shamed into being called loose and her integrity will always be looked up upon.

There is no "normal" age to lose your virginity. If this girl isn't ready, then more power to her! So many people are pressured into having sex before they're ready and it complicates things so much.

There's no time limit on being a virgin.
It always SEEMS like everyone else is 'doing it'.
Your friend obviously has a mind of her own and doesn't have to do what 'everyone around her' is doing, if she is 'not ready'.

If she is an Indian .. or who ever it may be .. good to be .. until she gets married.. ofcourse we can't get guaranty a man she finds will be the virgin but it should be the basic guideline to be followed by everyone to experience a wonderful day after their marriage.

Good for her! It's not exactly normal, but it's the right thing to do. The right thing is usually the most difficult. I hope she holds out till she's married. My brother was 21. My aunt was 34.
