Do not believe in anything (simply)
because you have heard it.
Do not believe in traditions because they
have been handed down for many generations.
Do not believe in anything because it is
spoken and rumoured by many.
Do not believe in anything (simply) because
it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority
of your teachers and elders.
But after observation and analysis,
when you find that anything agrees with reason
and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all
then accept it and live up to it.

Would you also agree that there are a lot of people on here baiting religious people into arguments?

And would you also agree that many people on here are bashing religion constantly (mainly Christianity)?

If you don't believe this, browse the Religion and Spirituality section of Yahoo Answers. That's the section I frequent the most.

If you are staying in this category (LGBT) for the most part, then I agree that people shouldn't be preaching to you or bashing your beliefs or practices. Likewise, I wish there weren't so many people bashing religion in the Religion and Spirituality section, where religious discussion should be welcomed.

I think people on here should pay attention to the categories when posting questions and answers.

Yes, they shouldn't bag out and push their beliefs - but they have a right to have them being heard (there is a difference, y'know). Anyways, many people out there are religious, in some way or another. I find it intresting that two people in the same religion have different views of it...Very intresting....

Who's pushing their beliefs? This is an open forum; someone asks while someone else responds. Chill.
Sounds like you need to get an open mind when it comes to religious stuff.

Who defines what is serious? To religious people, nothing is more serious. You really think we're just trying to annoy you? If you were absolutely convinced that your beliefs were the difference between eternal bliss and eternal suffering, you'd be just as adamant. If you're so hyped about keeping an open mind, try to see it from our perspective.

Religious folks are convinced that they've found the one true way to enlightenment, and the only path to heaven. Almost every religion tells its followers as much, and also tells them that they have an obligation to share their enlightenment with other people. To justify believing in all the sillyness they do, they have to try to convert other people to their sillyness -- if they do, they can boast that their particular sect is growing, and so it must be the truth! :(
I just wish they'd open their eyes and look rationally at the world around them rather than continually try to justify their own illogical, untenable dogma by stuffing it down other people's throats.

I'd just like to say that no one can force anyone to except their beliefs, and in saying this I'd like to ask what are you afraid of if you are not a christian that is your choice, I am a christian , and am very proud of that , I will stand on the solid rock untill the end no one could change my mind about this except me, and i NEVER will, everyone believes in something , everyone worships something or someone, I choose to believe in God and i believe he sent his only son to save us from our sins , thats my belief, I'd like to give you an invitation to share the same belief and in the end you will be happy that you did , but in no way am I forcing it on you or pushing it down your throat. God gave us all the right and the chance to choose , so go ahead , you decide , Heaven , or Hell !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree that we should not be forcing our beliefs on you, but God is real and I just wish that some of you could really experience the power of God. We try to warn you, because we don't want to see anything bad happen to you when you die. God loves you. And I'm not just saying that lightly, but God really does love you and He will keep sending people in your life to let you know that He loves you. But we should not force anything on you because Jesus never forced anyone to do anything. You all have a choice, right or wrong. Heaven or Hell.

Get over yourself, not all people who talk about God are religious, I'm a spiritual person...but I believe God has us here for a reason. Yours is just different than mine, but in no way am I trying to push my views/beliefs on you.
Plus, I refuse to judge anyone for what they do, or believe in, that's what God does.....

Who bags on us the most? So learn the word so you have a fighting chance in he11. Not pushing my beliefs just fighting back for who I am. Otherwise the just try and get your goat. Fight back with the word.
