We went to Iraq because of "WMD" -- did you believe at that time that Bush was telling the truth? What do you believe now? Or did you ever believe he was telling the truth? One more question to add on.......how many terrorists did we catch in Iraq that had ANYTHING TO DO with 9/11??? I know Saddam was a bad bad man but there are many bad bad people and we can't take them ALL DOWN, right?

First of all, the entire world believed there were WMD in Iraq, based on Iraq's own documents and history of use, and much evidence and material has been found to support the existence of active chemical and biological weapons programs, even a few chemical warheads. The fact is that the chemical and biological agents can be produced quickly from raw materials when needed and only stockpiles of the raw materials are required. Of course, these raw materials usually have other legitimate uses and thus can be reasoned away.

Further, the invasion of Iraq was in response to the numerous violations of UN secuity council resolutions dealing with WMD, several of which authorized the use of force. Saddam was known to, and bragged about, helping international terrorism, and even though he probably didn't have any direct connection to 9/11, his connection to terrorism in general is well established.

So, get your facts straight and stop spewing this liberal, why-can't-we-all-just-get-along garbage. There is evil in this world and it must be rooted out and destroyed at every opportunity.

I never believed that crap, except that Iraq used to have a facility to manufacture the nerve gas VX - which was given to them by the US and cannot be easily produced in some rat hole in the ground. They probably wanted to have WMD programs but so do a lot of other countries in the world.
Now they are running around today bragging about killing someone who was just a bandit in Iraq. Well where is Bin Laden? Probably they have to keep him alive until the next presidential election approaches. I think they'll have their hands full with the many-headed hydra al Qaeda for a while.

Who cares what Bush thinks? Only brainwashed people with stih for brains could actually believe him or his compadres now.

We went to iraq besause we BELIEVED there were wmd.
I'll put an even money bet that they were there and now theyre either in syria or iran.
And saddam isnt the only bad guy out there
But you have to start somewhere.
As far as terrorists that had to do with 9/11?
They all had to do with 9/11
One way or another theyre all involved.
Who knows
Maybe the next guy we kill in Iraq wont be able to blow up canada or spain or england.
Or a bunch of innocent iraqis at some market.

If you believe that we went to Iraq based on a lie then you must also believe congress lied too, both parties supported the war at that time.
Both parties were duped by Ahmed Chalabi and the British's Operation Rockingham. Based on testimony both parties oked the war.

There is no connection with the events of 9-11 and Iraq as much as Conservatives would want you to believe it to be so.

Can we take them all down? Maybe. But should we? NO.
I do not believe the US has the God given right to interfere with the domestic policies of sovereign countries.

I know most Americans seem to have a very short term memory, but the entire world thought Iraq had WMD. In fact they DID have them. They were ordered (by UN) to dismantle and allow the world to verify with inspections. Sadam did not comply with the inspections, and was in violation of the UN resolution about the WMD's. The US simply did what the UN was not willing (or afraid) to do. It was the right thing to do.

By the way. We did find evidence that WMD's were available and/or able to be quickly produced.

I don't know if i believed they had them, but i do believe they were trying to develope them and any evidence was moved across the borders since we gave them a warning that we were coming.
as far as terrorist and 9/11, we didn't go there to find people responsible for 9/11. we went there because they were housing terrorist and had training camps for them in the northern regions. plus there were plenty of other reasons we went in there. he was violating the sactions we put on him and our intelligence had discovered that those countries that were so opposed to us going in (France, Germany, Russia) were also doing some behind the scenes trading with Iraq which was also a violation of the sanctions.

I believe that we are on Irans doorstep for a reason. Oh how clever. We have to be one step ahead of the game to keep WMD's like Irans out of the hands of terrorists. To think that being on Irans doorstep wasn't a thought from the beginning of this invasion is ignorant. Thank god we are there, thank the troops for there heroism, and thank god the Bush administration is such a well oiled machine. Way to go.....What about the oil for food scandle? Hmmmm no wonder they wouldn't back us......and by the way, Sadam wanted the world to think he had those weapons. In his mind it was a deturrant to any nation that may invade. GO GET'EM GEORGE! GO GET'EM!

at the time the the war was started the best information available was that he either had or was close to having WMDs. he did use gas several times before so his having at least one type of WMD is a proven fact. there also was and is some proof that sadam was working with and offering support to at least some terrorists.
