My daughter was plagued with head lice for about 3 years. I was so disgusted. I paid so much money to get rid of them. I took her to the doctor to get the prescription Lindane. I cut her hair. I did everything and it still didn't work. Then one day, my friend showed me how to get rid of them. First you need to recognize what you are actually looking for. I thought I was just looking for bugs and nits. I looked through the hair and saw nothing until she pointed out the SHAFT of hair close to the scalp. I was amazed how tiny the babies (lice) were. Now I know what I am looking for.
Most people keep getting head lice because they don't realize that it is not just a simple process of washing the hair and rinsing it out. There are three (3) steps to getting rid of lice. Lice don't care about stuffed animals and mattresses that much.... still clean everything...
The point is... THEY LIKE HAIR!!!!!!
Here is the three steps
1.) Wash and clean everything..... hair, clothes, bedding, couches, carpets, car.... etc....
2.) Comb out nits...... You MUST find a really good head lice comb. There is a RED one... I forget the name but it has two sizes of tongs for thick and thin hair.
Anyhow... no matter how hard you try, you will NOT find every nit on your child's head... unfortunately... this is why step #3 is important
3.) You must recognize what you are looking for.... THE TINY BABIES (from the nits) that return in 7 to 10 days.... if you stay on top of this step.... you will be fine. So make sure you follow up and repeat step #1 and #2 again and perhaps a few more times.
You have to stay on top of head lice and you will get rid of them.
Lastly, I made my daughter wear hair gel to school everyday. She has had no more problems with head lice.

Simple! When my child got lice and none of the expensive chemical shampoos/treatments worked I got a tip off the internet. Here's what to do. It really works!
Buy some olive oil. Saturate the scalp and hair with it. Really get it all over. Wrap head in plastic wrap or a shower cap or something like that. Leave on as long as you can. I'd say a couple of hours. It will drown them. The olive oil isn't bad to get out of the hair. Just wash it several times.
Best of luck to you. Lice are a real pain!

The best and cheapest way is to use 91% isoproyl alcohol. it dries out the hair and oil and kills the lice. A real fine toothed comb will help to pull the nits(eggs) from the hair. It is best to have someone else do your hair with the Isoproyl. Lean your head back and have them either pour it in your hair or in their hand and basicly use it like shampoo. Once the hair is covered and throughly wet let it air dry. DO NOT wash out. Once the hair is dry, then go wash it with regular shampoo. Use a White towel to dry your hair so you can see if any are alive after you wash your hair.

something that invades your house is annoying, whilst my canine controlled to deliver fleas in from being exterior for purely minutes that became my plan of attack. the situation approximately lice is they hate oil or grease the two of those 2 extra to the scalp won't basically kill yet avert lice from attaching and at this element it is what you decide on. forget approximately type you have a conflict on your palms. deal at the same time with your babies's hair with toddler oil or any sort of mineral oil and then shampoo with popular shampoo some distance much less poisonous than the insecticides in lice shampoo. hit upon a delicate oil you are able to positioned on your youngster's hair at evening and permit them to sleep in a satin headscarf in the morning wash and sweetness as known. the headscarf is on your pillow circumstances and additionally particularly solid for each ones hair. If lice are something like fleas throw your vacum bag away. and ascertain you get rid of each final nit, with comb or nails they slide suitable off.

In addition to shampoos and otehr medications, have you washed ALL clothes and bedding in your household? Maybe the house needs to be fumigated. For some reason you are being reinfested.

Yeah, use something oily or goopy. I remember when I was a kid and had them, the only person in my house who didn't get them was my Dad, who always used Vitalis (some mens junk), I guess it was too slippery for them to latch on good.
