What does the avg. heat pump system replacement or upgrade cost? We are located in Southern NJ.?

I am looking to update or replace my current heat pump with a new heat pump system and would like to know the average cost for a system (including installation) in South Jersey. Thanks.

I just had one replaced in Tennessee.

I got the higher efficiency unit and it was $3358 tax included. They installed it and removed my old unit. That was the heat pump only. All my ducts etc were fine.

The lower efficiency model was $180 less.

If its just the unit, probably around 3-4 thousand. If you have to get the duct work done too, double that estimate.
