I want to look into maybe installing a point of use water heater

Try talking to your local weather bureau or the geology department at the nearest university. All else fails, do like what the previous answerer said...make sure the thermometer is looooong though. :)

be very careful with point of use heaters. the small ones are about worthless. the only ones i've seen worth installing are the gas fired ones and they are not cheap. the electric ones that run on 220 volts at 30 amps just don't make it. if a difference of a few degrees in the water effects the performance of the unit its not going to do the job properly.

Pends on aquifer depth. Like the first poster said use a thermometer. Shallow aquifers like the one my well is in range in the 60's.
