Go with Cingular! It is better than Verizon! And they have cool phones too!

I prefer Cingular, but your best bet is to find out which carrier has good reception coverage for where you are and where you spend most of your time. I travel a lot, and at one of my destinations, Sprint and Verizon are not even offered! All three major carriers should have a coverage map on their web site, I know Cingular does.
It also depends on if you are wanting calls only or internet connection as well. Make sure you shop around.
One more thing, I know BellSouth, and probably the other "baby bells", offer a discount for Cingular. I get $10 my cell phone bill every month for combining my cell and land lines.

I have cingular. i wouldn't trade it for any cell phone provider out there. not only does cingular have pretty good plans but they also have great phones and i like the upgrade program they have. i mean, they keep me locked in two year contracts, but i can upgrade my phones for an $18 activation charge that's billed to my phone. the reception is good and i am about the only one that i know of in my office who can talk during an entire 9 floor elevator ride. the customer support is award winning and every time i call them with an issue, it's resolved before i hang up the phone. i don't know how the at&t switch thing works but i have been with cingular for 4 years and counting. my husband and I switched from sprint because they turned off our phones one day after our bills were due. they didn't give me enough time to get off work to go pay the bill so i don't much like sprint and the customer service didn't work for me. cingular is great. and besides that, you can combine your cell phone bill with your home phone and your dsl and in some cases, your direct tv if you have those services through at&t.

it all depend on what area u are in and how many tower the company has in your area check that out before trying to get service and Verizon is a little more expensive then cingular. Cingular has rollover mins and you have the option of starting ur night min at 7pm. hope this helps goodluck

I would suggest you go with Cingular. I have been through multiple carriers and right now I have sprint and I would have to say they are the worst. So many billing errors it is just ridiculous. I know a few people that have Cingular and it is a good company. No complaints.

Cingular (a GSM signal provider) is good in that they are very widespread over the U.S. As well, because they are a GSM provider, you can travel overseas and still be able to use your phone in the vast majority of European countries, either by renting a S.I.M card or just taking your phone along and paying the exhorbitant service fees for being overseas. Verizon wireless is good in that... well have you ever seen those "Can you hear me now?" commercials? They actually do have a group of their staff driving around the country testing their network (with special equipment, not necessarily by calling and saying "can you hear me now?"). While Verizon's network uses a CDMA signal (which, by the way, I have found to be not only clearer than GSM, but also much much faster for data now that the majority of CDMA phones have EV-DO technology that allow them to transmit up to 700kbps as opposed to GSM's EDGE technology which is I believe up to 300kbps), you can get overseas phones that use CDMA in the U.S and GSM overseas. In my opinion, Verizon would be a better choice because they use CDMA (no annoying chip to insert), and you have the option of getting phones that work on both CDMA and GSM.

I prefer T. Mobile You get more minutes for your money and I find a lot less dropped calls. We have both Cingular and T.Mobile in the house hold.
