I don't know of any Indian communities.
There is a supermarket called Superlake that caters to Americans in San Antonio, between Chapala and Ajijic on Lake Chapala. Their ethnic section is getting bigger and bigger. I know they sell Indian curry paste, basmati rice and other related products. They are spendy but if you have a craving it's worth it.
Also, In Guadalajara at the San Juan de Dios market you can get every spice known to mankind. However, you need to know the name in Spanish since they keep a lot under the counter.
Good luck!

In supermarkets as WalMart you cand find most of the spices, I'm not sure how alike as the original Indian they are, but it is not hard to find spices in Mexico.

If there are any Oriental shops in Jalisco maybe they would have even more spices.

Mexico City is where they have everything, I can't picture any other city having Indian spices, unless there's some Indian community in Mexico I don't know about.

Curry and other spices in Mexico? Hmmm, I'm thinking that's going to be hard to find. I would say you'd have to come stateside to purchase those. Or you can try ordering them online from a spice retailer.

There is a Walmart on the highway going in to Guadalajara from Lake Chapala. If you can't find what you are looking for there, go to downtown Guadalajara and wander around the market place or the mall (I think it is called Indepencia). Also try looking up the Spanish names for the spices on freetranslation.com to make them easier to find.
