Anything involving aliens is usually a hit. I'm one of those boring people that just likes to see clever people sitting around having a chat, with maybe a bit of comedy hijinx thrown in there now and then (ie- Seinfeld, As Time Goes By, The Cosby Show, Last of the Summer Wine).

Comedy is the best theme they could have. It seems like the only thing worth watching.
Or some mystery with a genuine and not a deliberately long drawn story. But that isnt possible with serials, so...
