The movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind staring Jim Carrey, Kate Windslet, Kirstin Dunst and Elijah Wood was so mind opening...do you think that it is possible that the Government has the power to do this... have they done it before, what about our soldiers? Have their minds been erased due to witnessing our country's biggest and deepest secrets. Maybe they have erased your mind and you dont even know it. Hmmm, something to think about, please think about it for a minute before you answer.

I would venture to say that technology like this already exists OR it is being developed by some "think tank" of smart fellows in Switzerland. I thought the movie was really stupid but the premise was good. It poses questions about the subconscious. Can someone truly erase a memory or do things get so imbedded in your psyche that they are simply locked away until the proper key comes along.

You're right it is something to think about.

i thought the movie was amazing. i wouldn't be surprised at all if the government had developed a technology that could do that or something similar.

this movie definately did make me think. but then again, so did the movie 'the truman show', ever since i was young i've thought that it might be possible for the whole world to be in on something that i didn't know about.

Yeah, I saw this movie but although I believe that in time we may develop a drug or procedure which can erase our memories, I rather hope that it only happen to willing participants. It just is not right for certain memories to be erased, whether it may be good or bad. Our memories make us so they should always be with us as we age.

I think it could be possible like in an advanced lobotomy kind of way, but would you really want to voluntarily lose your memories? I think the goverment could probably gain control of this inorder to manipulate memories of war and other secrets, but it seems very unethical. If you don't want people to know your secrets, don't have any, and if you don't want people to have bad memories of wars and such, don't have wars to cause this trauma. I know it is not that easy, but why should people have to take away pieces of life. Thats what life is, the good and the bad.

Good question!

Yes I do beleive that they can do this maybe not in the same way but they can. The government does alot of stuff no one knows about. Then they mess with your mind so no one will beleive you. and yes the movie was good.
