It is a means for living, not a goal in our life.
As it is said, happiness is not in the mere possession of money. It lies in the joy of achievement in the thrill of creative effect.

Earning money became a goal in life when people decided they wanted to be greedy, and or powerful over others because they had more money. Money shouldn't be a goal in life, however. Money doesn't bring happiness, and if it does, it doesn't last too long. You will eventually become lonely and wanting more in life. People these days only use money as a goal in life because they really and truly don't understand that money can be very evil. People are loosing their lives, families, and friends over money. Money really can't do anything for a person except buy them a lot of things, and giving them right to say i have a lot of money. You can't, well you are not suppose to, eat money. You can't have a realaionship with money. Some of the things come with people in your life not money. Money shouldn't be a goal unless you are helping a charity, poor people, homeless people, helping feed a poverty country....etc.
However there is a bright side to earning money as the goal in life. Some people want to have a better life for themselves with all the material things than they had maybe when they were younger. Sometimes people make earning money a goal because they want their kids to live better than what they did when they were kids. Everyone isn't as selfish as most people may think.
HAVE A NICE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :}
P.S.
The word YOU doesn't perfer to anyone specific, or you.

No i don't think it is the goal of life. Money is an important factor in our lives but i think that personal happiness is the goal that we are all striving for. I think that it is a largely unattainable goal as what makes us happy changes and we may be misguided and attempt to achieve happiness through largely material things which only help to dull reality. Money is of course linked to happiness as we live in a world where possessions are used to construct a certain identity but don't believe that our goal is to earn money rather it is a by product of a larger goal.

Earning money is a goal in life but it is not THE goal in life.
Life can have many goals. Earning money is only one of them. Family, good healthy and happiness are other equally important goals.

Life consists of different aspects.
Earning money is a goal of just ONE aspect of life.
We also need to fulfil other goals of other aspects of life.
If not, there will be an imbalance... and there will be problems...
