Though I'm not an avid reader or movie watcher, I know for certain that Stephen King uses astrology to write at least some of his novels.

FireStarter is filled with information regarding the Fire signs, Aries, Leo and Sagittarius.

IT in turn is filled with information regarding the sign Pisces.

Martha Lawrence writes a series of mysteries featuring a PI who's psychic. The titles and stories reference astrological signs:

Murder in Scorpio (1995)
The Cold Heart of Capricorn (1997)
Aquarius Descending (1998)
Pisces Rising (2000)
Ashes of Aries (2001)

I've only read a few, but they're pretty good as both mysteries and astrological/metaphysical writing.

Tori Amos isn't actually a novelist but a definite storyteller and singer/songwriter who often uses references throughout. For example, she has a song titled "Goodbye Pisces" and another called "Hey Jupiter." She also has an album called "To Venus and Back." I would most definitly recommend checking some of her work out. :)
