they're down to taste. I personally own a yamaha but honda are also excellent bikes. Basically, anything Japanese that's been maintained properly will be dependable, perform well and last a long time.

Hondas typically have an easier maintenance schedule to follow than Yamaha. Check the Service intervals for both bikes you are considering, and see which one is going to cost less AND have less down time in the shop being serviced. My guess is that the Honda will win this test. Good Luck!

I prefer the Yami myself. New Honda's worked out a lot of the valve probs, but a well maintained older Yamaha just seems to last forever.

If I had a choice I think I'd pick Yamaha,the oldies were a good lasting machine and dependable

I agree with Jtossm. Both are great machines. I usually prefer Honda because the are such good all-around performers, but it depends on what you want.

id say honda out of those 2 but i personally would take suzuki over any other bike!

yamaha all the way, i ride a rz 350 and i'm working my way up to an R1, they are dependable, parts are easy to find and they have a good ride

i would have to say, that is all depends on what you are looking for, and how much experience that you have, they both offer different things in their bikes, i would have to say go for a test drive on both, they both are very reliable. it's all in your taste.
