Well, according to Nielson Media Research, last week's (6/4) Monday Night Raw was the 8th and 13th rated programs of the week, with around 4.5 million US viewers for the first hour, and nearly 5 million for the second. No other Monday night program made the top 15. The shows that the 13th rated RAW in the ratings? The Sopranos, the NBA Playoffs (which took 5 of the top ten) and the NASCAR race, Comedy Central Movie (Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One for the Road), Spongebob Squarepants, The Suite Life with Zach and Cody, and the 1998 remake of the Parent Trap.
Yes, it's fake. Yes, the storylines are unbelievable and the various in-match sequences can be predicted with a fair degree of accuracy. But the people I know who watch wrestling do so because of that; like watching a combination of gymnastics and soap opera.

I used to watch WCW. So that was about 6 years or so ago that it was ended. Anyway for their credit the ref was usually "distracted" when "cheating" like that took place. Either that or it was out of the ring and the ref only counts to make sure you aren't out of the ring too long. Oh yeah it was fake. It was fun to watch though. As most say it is a male soap opera. The thing with the WCW though was you had your good guys against the bad guys. That is what wrestling is meant to be.

It's not all fake, the punches are fake but chair shots are not completely. The superstars do take a battering but they learn how to take it all, the body positions and everything. I suppose WWE is a bit like Formula 1 or NASCAR, you only watch it for the accidents. Like Kurt Angle did a moonsault off the top turnbuckle and landed knee-first on Harcore Holly's arm. Snap.

After reading some of your recent questions--if you can actually call them questions, that is--I'm beginning to suspect that you are the idiot. But, hey, I could be wrong. Anyhoo, WE know it's fake, but guess what my friend? Just like every other show on broadcast television, it's entertainment! Deal with it and move on! (Just as a suggestion, and since you are so full of intellect and wisdom, try another Yahoo! Answers category. Perhaps you could offer your insights on immigration in the US, or maybe give someone a good recipe in the food section?)

I watched for the mindless fun of it. I knew it was fake a long time ago. Like when i was 7 year old. I grew up in Ultimate warrior ere and i knew wrestling was fake back then.
But i have watch it less and less when the BIG GUNS like the Rock, Austin, Goldberg, Brock lesnar and more are out of it and finally now i have quit watching when the GREAT KHALIL ARE IN WWE. COZ IM PISSED OFF WHEN WWE PLAY THE MUSLIM PRAYER WHEN THEY SHOW KHALIL BRUTALITY ON REY MYSTERIO.
IM NOT RELIGIOUS BIAS FREAK, IM JUST LIKE what the hell??!@$#@#?? with WWE when they trying to make a link between KHALIL and ISLAM. Like there no better script to write. ITs !@@!$!$!$!$#%#@ huh???!!!

Well, I dont know about pro wrestling my friend. But if it is WWE. A whole lot of people watch it not just in the US but in all parts of the world including India. Most of them ,I'm afraid, think that all of it is real.

Some people like soap operas, some people like the circus, I like wrestling.
Of course there is some "suspension of disbelief" needed to enjoy wrestling, but that's true of any other form of entertainment on tv. I admire their athleticism and ability to put on a show.

So-called Reality Tv is more retarded because unlike wrestling which the media admits it's fake our darling media attempts to insult our intelligence by claiming to their dead mothers graves that reality shows are real despite proof otherwise.
