That the man who raped a 12 week old baby and has just been sentenced to a minimum of 8 years in jail should be given to the baby's parents to do what they like with?

Absolutely, couldn't agree with you more. And much as I don't advocate violence, I hope so much that the people he shares a prison with find out and administer the justice that somewhere along the line a judge and jury haven't seen fit to impose. EIGHT YEARS?! Thats nothing compared to what that child now has to live with, and her parents.

The world has gone crazy.

And Mr H - compassion doesn't even come into it, when you are talking about someone capable of doing that to a defenceless baby. Consider if that was your child - would you feel compassionate then?

While I understand the sentiment, we do have a justice system for a reason.
Does anyone around here support the death penalty? If you don't support the death penalty then you have no right to demand permanent disfigurement (castration) or vigilante actions (hand him over to the parents) against an offender.
The fact is 'we the people' have allowed our laws and sentencing to be reduced for years. It's no good now saying that they're not right - look at the Bulger murderers: there was uproar about their sentences too, but did anyone campaign to change the law? No.
So whether you think the sentence is just or not is completely irrelevant unless you take action. You get the laws you deserve.

It would be nice of him to go and get mauled by a bear, but that is all wishful thinking... Anyway back to the question, they should lock him up for life, well at least until he's seventy, then let him out and he'll live the rest of his life as an old, hated, lonely man...

I don't think it is a good idea though to start taking out vengence by breaking the law, yeah, I know, I'm really sad, but if people just got their way and did whatever, well, in my opinion you'll then be as bad as him.

I think let him rot in prison - but not in a s@x-offenders wing, but in with the normal crims! despite what the parents want to do, leave it to the "professionals" inside. Prisoner's tend to come up with bizarre tortures, many involving razor blades!! If the parents took the law into their own hands, they would probably end up serving a longer sentence than that B*S*ARD anyway, with the in-competencies of our legal system anyway. Instead, he'll end up in the n*nces wing, comfy furniture, TV, computer and all the other luxuries NOT befitting the crime.

No, It is for our laws to decide. that is why they are there. Do you want a system like some middle east countries where family members are allowed to execute, maim offenders? Taking into account the appeal court judges findings he will be lucky to ever see the light of day again. While he is in prison it is also likely he will be in extreme danger from fellow inmates who take a very dim view of his type of crime. Turning him over to family members would only turn them into potential murderers.

Do you not think that would lead to a breakdown in the fundamnetal laws of society. Just because one person breaks the law, doesn't mean that you make things better by adding to the world's hate with vengeance. I think 'God' his response needs to show a little more compassion.

Might as well just torture him to death by the whole community. I would like a part in his killing.
