If you can't control the sale of illicit drugs, how do you hope to stop the sale of contraband cigarettes? Did prohibition work in the US when the sale of alcoholic drinks was banned in the 1920's? It seems like the only way to protect people from substance abuse is to educate them about their ill effects. That has worked with smoking. A black market in cigarettes would simply give the dope pushers a new way to make money in my opinion.

No because the government is wanting to take over the cigarette's just like they did the alcohol.,this does not mean i think people should smoke by no means. Stopping the sale of cigarettes will not stop people from smoking . Can you imagine the poisons that people would get from illegal cigarettes under ground and the street just like crack cocaine.

it would get exhausting if we outlawed everything that is harmful, people make their own choices and deal with the consequences
