Oh just tell your employer the truth...
"Good morning, 'insert employer name', I'm very sorry but I will not be able to come into work today, I have recently started performing "charity" work...yes, charity work, I help a variety of people with the answers to their important questions...I was up so late last night, that I can barely function this morning. I apologize and I will be in first thing in the morning!"
What employer wouldn't cut you a little slack for charity work?

you could break your own leg in one or two places by putting it across two chairs and repeatedly throwing a very large dumbell at it..... that excuse could stretch a little too, you may get quite a ummmm long break ( for want of a better word)!!!!!!
am i a genius or what?
