Is there some biological cause for this, something that happens in your body? What is considered stressing too much? Has anyone had any experience where this wasn't the case?

When you are trying to conceive it may *seem* like everyone who wants to get pregnant can't and vice versa. It's not true. Women who conceive easily within a month (or even two or three) aren't usually posting questions to Yahoo Answers, or writing blogs, or telling all their friends (*especially* the ones who are having trouble ttc) about how easy life is.

It's true that many women who are ttc have difficulty. Sometimes, this is the result of choices they have made or which have been forced on them by circumstances (having babies in their 30s or 40s, previous use of hormonal birth control, etc.). Sometimes it is just lousy luck! And teens and women in their 20s sometimes find themselves pregnant when they *don't* want to be. Unfortunately, that's just the way life is--sometimes it sucks!!

And, by the way, stress *can* delay ovulation (not your period). Most women who are ttc have stress *after* ovulation, wondering "am I going to get my period?!" So it's not usually related...

You probably don't *really* want to hear women say "Yes, I got pregnant every time I wanted to the first month". Would it help you?

Well once you put it in your mind that you want a baby, if after a while you dont conceive, you ust start to keep on thinking about it....Comes to the point sometimes, where woman start dreaming and subconsciencesly thinking about it and it starts to depress you and stress you out...That doesnt mean that it is the reason you are not getting pregnant. What reassures me when I think about how sometimes I stress about it, I think about all thease morons that have unprotected sex and they drink and use drugs and dont sleep proper.Thats a hell of alot of stress on your body and they still end up pregnant. It really is timing, so long as you are ovulating and healthy. Can you imagine how many times we PROBABLY do end up with a fertilized egg inside, but the egg wasnt mature enough, our luteal phase isnt long enough, or body just rejected it....Probably alot we would never know because it was too early....Stress can cause alot of difficulties though with anything medical to our bodies, but I reaally cant believe it can be the only cause, it may contribute though, but not month after month...think about it.

When you are under a lot of stress, your body can react by delaying ovulation, and therefore delaying your period. When that happens, you may be TTC during the time period that you think you should be ovulating, but in fact it is later, and you miss your peak fertile days. (I have been TTC for over a year, so I know how frustrating the whole process is.) It is so hard to get your mind off it, but it's hard to ignore so many stories of people who say that once they stopped trying so hard they were able to get pregnant. Best of luck to you! I am on that road with you...

We just found out my wife is pregnant last week. We had been trying for a year and a half. She would always stress over it and that it wasn't working. I remember this past month she was discouraged and was saying things like "I'm tired of this, I don't care anymore" etc. And she got pregnant.

Mind over matter. Or maybe its a stress thing, if you are trying so hard you may be stressing out and therefor your body doesnt want to cope with another stress aswell.

In most cases the women who really want pregnancy are older, and as you may know the older you are the harder it becomes to get pregnant

The stress factor is at work. Try conceiving on your vacation. It worked for us...twice!
