They are not likely to win the World Cup, but they have a strong team. They did very well in the Africa Cup and have a lot of strong players from European leagues. On the other hand they are in a tough group with Argentina, The Netherlands and Serbia/Montenegro. To get through they probably have to beat at least one of those three and draw with another one.

Would give them a better chance to advance if they were not in the 2nd toughest group. If they get out of the group I think they have a shot at the Quarters and maybe even the Semis.
By the way Essien will be at the world cup but with his home country Ghana not the Ivory Coast.

Any ball game is anybody's game. The ball is round, so you'll have no idea who'll be it 'til the end has come. So, they may be a longshot like any team is. Unfortunately, I think they need more than guts and talent since they're in a tough bracket. If they'll be able to squeak past the first round, then who knows? Nigeria did it during the Olympic right? An underdog team, why not. :D

5-0? Do you additionally be responsive to a thank you to play soccer? Ask each individual in the event that they think of Germany would desire to conquer Brazil 5-0. I advise i'm from Argentina and hate Brazil, yet heavily, 5-0? and you call it soccer... And answer this without Googling: what's an offside?
