The 1st books are set in a post cold-war world, where the good v evil open conflict has been resolved. There may be evil people living in amongst us, but they are secret -like the media frenzy at the time the books were published over peodophiles and immigrants. Then at the end of bk4, evil is going to return. Bk5 would radically depart from the real world situation but... then 9/11 happened and the book and real life carry on in parallel.

It's not reading stuff in, it's just a question of what world the books are set in. EG starwars set in the old cold war world. At the end of bk 4 it really looked as if the books were going to go off into a different world from ours, but in fact they just got closer.

Because Rowling knows somene who gets infornmed of terroists attacks. I know this isn't something anyone want to hear. And this is sometthing anyone has the power to chack up on. America from a political stance will not under any circumstances give in to terrorists. It's not in it's new found nature. If and whenever there is a threat of any kind the standard procedure is to check all sources of the threat. Afterwards if it is declared that it is a positve threat then it is needed to have those that are in charge of the company to take a vacation. In short those that are absolutely needed to run the company. It is not in America's bet interest we shut down everything we have for an unlisted amount of time. And it can not be made public knowledge that there is an attack out of fear of panic. If the American people shut down then America will become weak. America can not, should not, and will not ever appear weak to anyone for any reason. If a threat is made and nothing happens, then America lost millions and billions of dollars and also flinched to the enemy showing it's weakness. Upon showing weakness it is possible to lose more economic balance. It is fair to say people are just merely numbers in the end, and can be replaced. But, the economy can be wrecked and take years even decades to repair. Not to get too far off the point. America was warned about the attack on 9/11 but, it was not considered serious. Upon knowledge of the planes take over, it was deemed neccessary to evacuate the top stock holders, ceos, and presidents as standard prcedure. It was the hope that the planes would miss the buildings since it would take years of training for the accuracy. But, sadly America was wrong.

I don't know about J.K. Rowling's insider status, but if I were a betting man -which I'm not- I'd put serious money on whether or not Tom Clancy knew about 9/11 before it happened. It's no big secret that Clancy bases his novels on declassified CIA documents (i.e. "The Hunt For Red October"; "Clear And Present Danger") but consider: in "The Sum Of All Fears" (1991) Middle Eastern terrorists nuke the Super Bowl in Denver (as is usually the case, the book is way better than the movie!). In "Debt Of Honor" (1994), Clancy has a 747 kamakazi into the Capitol Building during a joint session of Congress. In "Executive Orders" (1996), he has a biological warfare Ebola attack break out in the States, causing the President (Clancy's hero Jack Ryan, no less) to put institute a domestic travel ban and martial law. This is probably what would happen if a real pandemic indeed broke out in the US (i.e. H5N1).
A couple of days after 9/11, I caught an interview with Tom Clancy on CNN, in which he said something to the effect of, "It's one thing to write about this kind of stuff...it's another thing to see it actually happen." Which probably explains why his next novel dealt not with terrorism but rather the declassified story behind the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II ("Red Rabbit", 2002).
It could all be a coincidence. Trouble is, I don't believe in coincidences, and neither should you.

lol, JK Rowling is a fiction writer, this means she isn't obliged to write something that is syncronous with real world events. Even though the beginning is really taking background of real life events, she isn't obliged to continue taking real life events as the background, she can depart from real life and make the life completely paralel from what happenned in the real life anytime she wants, and anytime she sees fits, since it's her book and it's a fiction book, so she can write anything she wanted to. And she also is not obliged to not take real life events as her background, she can make it syncronous with real life events if she wants to.

Basically, I don't even think that Miss Rowling even thought that far that the book 1 and 4 is similar to real life events, perhaps she wrote unconciously take it from real life events, but I'm not sure she actually do it on purpose.

And certainly, Starwars doesn't take old WW, it takes place in the far future war, so perhaps WW3 or WW4 or UW1 (Universe War).

JK Rowling had said that she knew what was going to happen in the last book when she wrote the first one. She only did not know the minor details but knew the "STORY". Therefore, there is no basis for what you are saying. ...
