because when we are younger and more caught up in life, we don't appreciate things. We take our families for granted we take our friends for granted, we take life for granted. The focus of young to middle aged america (and anywhere else in the world) is centrally located at the dollar sign. Everyone is too in love with money. When people in general started appreciating money instead of life, that is when we stopped realizing how great things were.
Also, I believe it is because of the "have a good time" mentality. What i mean by this is people say "you only live once, so enjoy every minute of it!" this may sound good, but what they really do is do anything they can to have a good time. Which is not fully enjoy life. When you're out being adventurous or partying, you don't have time to stop and recognize how great the small things are.
Paying attention to the little pleasures in life help you to realize how great ti can be.
hope that helped.

I love your name and how you spell it. I know someone that spells it exactly the same vs. the usual Misty...Anyway, it's never too late...maybe you think it is, but it's possible that it's not too late. Have you thought about it long and hard and is there just absolutely NO hope left ? Maybe that's not the case...What are you realizing that is "too late" for you ? Sometimes the wonders and small miracles of life are the little surprises of discovering that it's not too late when you really thought it was. Just be open and honest about your feelings...I assume this is what it's regarding...feelings for someone ? Then just let things unravel as they may. That's all you can do. I wish you the best...

I told my son, last night as a matter of fact, that I "got too soon old, too late smart!" I regret many things I have done in my life, and now that it's winding down...it's too late. I wasted 25 years being married to a b****, and then being shy after she left me. Now, I'm 55, and want to have fun, and be with women, but I'm not the man I once was. My heart is still in it, but my body won't co-operate as well as I want it to. If only, lol. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.......you're not alone in your way of thinking!

Because we walk around with blinders on and try to do the "right" thing and what we think we "should" be doing, instead of following our hearts and enjoying life.

BECAUSE REALIZATION TAKES A LONG COURSE. SOMETIMES, IT TAKES YEARS TO REALIZE SOMETHING, SOMETIMES IT TAKES A LIFETIME AND YET REALIZATION IS NOT ATTAINED.
LATE REALIZATIONS HAPPENED WHEN WE DO NOT FOCUS ON THAT THING THAT NEED REALIZATION. WE EVEN SOMETIMES DECEIVE OURSELVES IN LOOKING AT THINGS AS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT THEY REALLY ARE BECAUSE WE ARE AFRAID TO ACCEPT REALITY WHICH HURTS. IF ONLY WE WILL TRY TO LOOK AT ALL ANGLES OF ANY THING THAT WE WANT TO KNOW AND REALIZE, AS EARLY AS WE CAN DO IT, REALIZATION WILL BE DONE AT A SHORT PERIOD. NO WASTED TIMES. NO WASTED TEARS. NO WASTED YOU.
