I don't neccessarily know about strongest, but there are actively building their military at an incredible rate. What is most alarming is that they seem to only be focusing on improving their offensive potential. China has no real security threats in Asia to defend against, so peolple should ask themselves, why an offensive build up?

Indisputedly. All empires wax and wane and the American Empire is fading more rapidly than most, thanks to a combination of its rampant commercialism and long-term disastrous foreign policies (especially during the Bush II era).

China has invaded America through its unguarded flank - its greed. Americans want more and more for less and less, and China is big enough, organised and ruthless enough to supply it. Now China has the money, the population, the brains and the sheer determination to overhaul America in a very short time.

Things may even up for a while because China needs America to remain a strong customer. But it will be China that sets the Agenda.

China needs increasingly huge resources (especially energy). It will get this from suppliers that currently serve America. This will damage America still further (this is why the Americans are in Iraq - they're trying to make the Middle East a captive oil provider - but they are not going to succeed).

China is buying up Africa at the moment and soon it will be buying up the Middle East - especially countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia - the biggest oil States. Chances are it will get Iraq's oil too - because that's likely to be controlled by Iran once the Americans have been chucked out.

China knows it cannot buy the nebulous and politically diverse European Union, but in very subtle ways it is developing new trading relationships there (and with Russia, the richest energy source of them all). All of this is will make America increasingly impotent. Europe knows this too - it is also turning away from America and building its trade elsewhere - especially in China and India.

China is increasingly dominant in World politics, especially while US foreign policy is dictated by the neocon nutcases - a disaster for the States. One day the UN may shift its headquarters to Beijing, funded by China. When that occurs it will also be given a much more powerful mandate and America will regret the way it tried to use money to bully the World's nations into serving America's aspirations.

America may continue to have the biggest Armed Forces, but so what? Every major American intervention since World War II has ended in defeat for the Americans. Big armies are the stuff of ancient history.

Goodnight America, and George Bush is providing the sleeping pills.

at this rate, yes. 43 years ago they went into wide open trading & 'made in china' was on so many things we use. now their industry is vast from cars to ports in other countries to toys to cutting edge tech. their size & resources are more than any other. they steer away from entangling aliances while enjoying the idustry of those who do.

Chyna is strong. I think she bench presses over 320 pounds.

But to compare her to a whole country, that is ridiculous.
