I've just moved into a house with a small garden. The previous tenant put weed killer on the lawn about a month ago. How long will it take until the lawn is safe to let my beloved buns out in the run? They are currently free ranging about the house, but it seems a real shame in this weather that they can't go out.

I think the rainfall may play a part in this.
If it's been dry can you find a way to water it without wasting tap water?. You'll think of something.

It depends on the weedkiller. Once you know the brand you can look on the label in the shop. Try reading the labels on a couple of different brands and pick the longest safe time.
If you really can't find out the brand, grass grows quickly, so water it and wait until you've cut it a couple of times. I'd say 4 more weeks and 4 mowings should be ok.
You can always ring the RSPCA (not their emergency line!) and ask for advice.

you will have to ask your landlord, what instructions it said for pets and animals on the back of the weed killer. It depends on the strength of it. Some only work for 7-to - 10 days then its safe to use the lawn again.

That depends on the rain and if you've mowed it. I'd say since it's been basically a month that it should be safe. I mean it should have rained once or twice since then and the grass should have been cut once or twice since then, leaving little to none of the weed killer on the grass leaves.
