Can anyone refer a website or give me information as to what equipment, etc. I need as well as instructions? Perhaps a franchise is available?

You are planning to entering a huge industry and of course a place where you can earn a lot. Getting a franchise and working for another company is a good idea but i don't think you will be able to earn more than enough in this way. So the best is open up your own store or online store.
First of all try to find out some one or a place from where you can buy t shirts in bulk that will help you to cut down your expenses in the beging.
Make sure to advertise properly, there are many maketeting and advertisment ideas which can make you work get customers from the very first day.
The most important thing in this business is you need to have some great ideas, i mean the quotes of figures you will print on your T shirt.
There are several ways you can get these ideas.
- First of all your own creative mind.
- Sharing with your friends.
- Buying quotes from T shirt professionals.
- Modifying other quotes you read some times.
The best is to buy from some one who is really professional into it and have the quotes which have never been printed.
I am a professional too but i work part time for small stores.
Here is my quote which have never been printed and i am sure you would like this.
This is to be printed on male t Shirts

"I sell condoms and give free demonstrations"

Good luck

The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here's a book title I found that may help you:

* How to Start and Manage a Printing Business: A Practical Way to Start Your Own Business by Jerre G. Lewis, Leslie D. Renn

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for a couple of articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!
