Team-spirit : has it become so (ab)used that it became meaningless CV-fodder ?

Being able to fit in with a team, work with a team and respect your co-workers is important.

In that sense, team spirit is essential.

But if I saw somebody claiming to have demonstrated 'team spirit' or been a 'team player' on a cv, I would expect them to say where and how they had done this - what they had brought to the team, how they had overcome problems within the team, helped other team members, etc.

Otherwise, as you say, the term is just over-used cv-speak, and I'd ignore it.

In the old management system the organisation was pyramidical and employer/employee relation that of a master and servant.Present concept is team work with a common objective. In a democratic set up and modern environment team spirit is VERY IMPORTANT and relevant in CV

The direct-opposite of team spirit (anti-informal organisation) is so damaging to the Co that one immediately sees its necessity.Having a common goal cannot operate without team spirit and vice versa. It ergo becomes necessary and has never been overrated.

Wouldn't you rather work in an environment with good team spirit? Have you ever?
