Don't get DRUNK!
or I found that if I aloud at least 1 1/2 hours go after my last drink and ate something substantial before going to bed, than I either prevented or lowered the severity of the hang-over. Now you have to be able to stomach it. Many of my friends were unable to do it because they would puke after laying down. But you have to remember that once upon a time I was a world class heavy-weight drinker. I am now retired and living well on iced tea and cool aid.

Cure: Don't drink and you won't get one.
To get over: Coffee with lots of sugar (do NOT use decaf). If you can't handle coffee drink either MT.Dew or Dr. Pepper because they have the highest amount of caffeine. Eat a big meal. Take aspirin if you are not allergic to it. Tylenol will not touch this headache.
Before you drink: Know what gives you a hangover; is it the type of drink or the amount. Make necessary changes. Drink other fluids such as water in between alcoholic drinks. Eat at least 2 hours before going to bed. Have a cup of coffee with a lot of sugar or Mt. Dew or Dr. Pepper before going to bed and take the aspirin.

Hi there. Let's set parameters as to what caused your hang-over:
A hangover is the sum of unpleasant physical effects following heavy consumption of alcohol. The most common reported characteristics of a hangover are feelings of extreme thirst (dehydration), feelings of being more tired than usual, nausea and headaches. In alcohol metabolism, one molecule of ethanol (the primary active ingredient in alcoholic beverages) produces 2 molecules of NADH, utilizing Vitamin B12 as a coenzyme. Thus, Vitamin B12 deficiency is a proposed cause for commonly experienced hangover symptoms.
In a review of the medical literature on hangover cures by researchers led by Max Pittler of the Peninsular Medical School at Exeter University, they reported in the 24 December 2005 issue of the British Medical Journal the following conclusion: "No compelling evidence exists to suggest that any conventional or complementary intervention is effective for preventing or treating alcohol hangover. The most effective way to avoid the symptoms of alcohol induced hangover is to practice abstinence or moderation." However, this is not good if you already have a hangover.
Hence, remedies available are:
1. Drinking coffee or other caffeinated beverages. Caffeine increases the effectiveness of analgesics, and therefore may reduce headache severity when used with aspirin or similar medicines. However, it is also a diuretic, and will promote dehydration, possibly worsening other hangover symptoms.
2. Mixing in a tall glass two raw eggs with pepper, tabasco sauce, and gin. Although the cysteine in the egg yolk may have a mild benefit, the pepper, tabasco, and gin will have a negative impact. Colloquially known as a "Prarie Oyster".
3. Coca Cola, otherwise known as "Black Aspirin" (popular in Australia), also "The Red Ambulance" (Ireland); the caffeine, bubbles and sugar can be easier to hold down than pure water. Moreover, the low pH helps the enzymes in the stomach and the sucrose partially compensates the inhibitation of the gluconeogenesis. Again, caffeine can worsen effects of dehydration.
4. Drinking a sports drink (NOT AN energy drink) such as Powerade or Gatorade, usually watered-down to rehydrate and replenish lost nutrients in the body. Powder supplements such as Ultima Replenisher contain a higher amount and better balance of electrolytes without high levels of sugar.
5. Pedialyte contains more electrolytes than most any over-the-counter substance. This will help you re-hydrate your body as quickly as possible.
6. Drinking a large amount of water before going to bed, and during the night, for rehydration (a little water is much better than none)
7. Drink orange juice, which is rich in vitamin C
8. taking a vitamin B1 (thiamin) supplement before going to bed
9. (instant) chicken or vegetable soup provides salt, proteins and electrolytes which help attenuate hangover symptoms
10. And last but not least, sleep. Although some people argue that sleep only prolongs the negative effects of alcohol due to slower metabolism while asleep
I hope this helps you.

Take painkillers, if you got headache, & drink plenty of water to hydrate yourself. The next time you go out for a drink , try drinking a pint of water first, then drink some more when you come home.
