This answer is only for sending pics not files:
1. Never send BMP or TIFF files
2. Use a program like Irfanview for PC or GraphicConverter for Mac to compress the files before you send the. Use 75% compression. The pic will look fine and be about 30% the size of the original.
3. Determine the final use of the file and crop it accordingly. If it is going to be used for on-line viewing, crop the width to 1024 PX and 72 DPI If you are going to print it, leave the DPI at 300 and crop the pic size to fit the paper size you will use.
You might want to zip it before sending. Not sure if yahoo will accept a zipped pic.

There is a website called sendthisfile.com
You can send really big files. It sends an email to the person u want to send them to with a link so they can extract the file, photo watever!!!

it depends on how big the file size is.if it's in mb then be prepared to wait for a few minutes. keep it or resize it in kb file sizes so to has a faster upload. or compress it with winzip or winrar then upload it.
