Easy - it's never true.

Nobody would send you an e-mail seeing you do not take part in any lotteries supplying your e-mail address. Am I right?

And if you really do take part online, you would know the company and your password.

First of all, u cannot win from any lottery unless u have paid for the ticket / voucher. So, if u get a letter saying that u have won millions/ billions, just ignore it. Never, ever respond to it. One of my friend , much against my opposition, responded and he ended up with 5000 $ down the drain. These are nothing but scam and their main aim is to get your details like name address, and later your account no. etc and what do u know, they might end up committing frauds in your name / identity.

So, please, please just delete such mails without even reading it.

Best of luck!!!

if they were true i'd be a billionaire, but i guess just wait for the check to arrive, and if you're stupid enough to send them money don't go crying on the news that you just got ripped off and can't pay your rent.
