Terrorist mastermind Abu Musab al Zarqawi - the most wanted man in Iraq - has been killed in a US air raid. Al Zarqawi was al Qaeda's leader in the country and was a key figure in the insurgency in which thousands of people have died.

The Jordanan is blamed by the US for the beheading of foreign captives and suicide bombings that have killed and injured hundreds of Iraqis.

His kidnap victims are believed to include engineer Ken Bigley from Liverpool who was decapitated.

Good that he's dead, but unfortunately it doesn't change a damn thing as far as the war goes. History shows that taking out one man does little if anything in the end (See the killing of Uday and Qusay, and the capture of Saddam).

Quick trivia how many of you know that Ho Chi Minh died in September 1969? That certainly changed things in Vietnam now didn't it.

Oh well, at least justice has been served, though I would have preferred if they had captured him then executed him. Who knows maybe they could've gotten some much needed intelligence out of him before painfully disposing of him.

While there will be a power struggle between those who want his 'vacant' position,He was just one element in a deeply complex religious and tribal situation.( the Jordanian tribe to which Zarqawi belonged actually cooperated with USA/Jordan etc to find him).It is a good thing , but the killing wont stop . I foresee a splintered Iraq or worse , a taliban-style fundamentalist government. .

It would depend weather you are called a TERRORIST or a FREDOM FIGHTER. If it lessens car bombings and innocent deaths I would say YES. He did however not expect to live as long has he has. Strange thing can happen.

yes, it will be good for the peace of iraq and people living inside iraq. now troops of us and other allied countries should go out and should left the country to thier own poeple with full support.
