I'm looking for a self-help solution. I don't want to get a new brake light installed. If you can tell me how to open the thing, what kind of replacement LEDs I need, and how I can install them, that'd be great :)

LED do last longer than regular bulbs but since you car is 14 years old maybe they need replacement. You could try and find one at your local junk yard. Or call your local Cadillac dealer and ask if the led's are replacable and how much they are.

yea led's do last longer than regular bulbs, long life doesnt mean they last forever, check connections with test light, with the age i'd say they need replacing
