The word "centripetal" (not to be confused with the "centrifugal") means center-seeking. For object's moving in circular motion, there is a net force acting towards the center which causes the object to seek the center.

There is no such thing. Dont think of centripetal and centrifugal forces and equal and opposite reactions. Because there are not ( as this defined by newtons 3rd law and it doesn't agree).
But these two forces usually exists together. I am incapable of explaining it to you in a way you would understand. but check out www.answers.com. i think they will have a better explanation.
