Get a pop-up blocker.
You can download a pop-up blocker from Google Toolbar or Yahoo Toolbar.
I've gotta Yahoo Toolbar.It really worked!

If you are using IE 6 you can use the built-in pop blocker or you can use a third party blocker. Both the Yahoo! and Google toolbars support popup blocking and do a much better job than the IE default.
Firefox also has built-in pop-up blocking support, which incidently works much better than the IE one. Firefox also supports extensions and various ad and pop-up extensions exist.

Download some toolbar that has a pop-up blocker. Like the Yahoo Toolbar or the Google Toolbar has it too I think.

use mozilla firefox instead of internet explorer. for me it's a much better web browser.it already has a pop-up blocker and it's free. just download it on their site at mozilla. otherwise, yahoo toolbar would just do.

IE6 has no pop-up control, get Yahoo toolbar for that.
IE7 has pop-up control, but it is still in beta.

also the SP2 for WINXP helps, but make sure the pop-up blocker is on from tools menu up there

click on the pop up blocker.. its that little yellow icon above with a little shield
