Pleasure, and only pleasure. They don't think about having kids nor survival of the race.

Just try to think the other way.
Why having sex gives you pleasure? Okay, the human way of thinking would tell you that Nature had a plan, and made sex funny so that living beings procreate. That is the wrong way of thinking.
The right way of thinking is as following, I put it very simple, okay? Is just a stupid example, not the REALITY.
Think about long long time ago. Some animals (or beings) have pleasure with sex, some have no pleasure, by some animals it hurts, by some animals if they dont have sex every 24 hours they get a terrible pain everywhere. After a time, the ones that had no pleasure and the ones that had pain disapear from Earth. There are only the ones that have pleasure, or have pain when they dont have sex. It happens by chance that the ones that have pain when dont get sex get a terrible disease that is contagious by sex. They all die. So, only the ones remain, the ones that have pleasure.

BUT it could have been other way. It could have been that the ones that have pain when having no sex would have survived. (Tell you again, there is no proof that there was something like that)

That is so by the higher animals.
By the not so sentient beings (amoebas, worms, politicians...) , it gets closer to plants, and it is more like... they just do it.

Dolphins are one example of an animal species that has sex for pleasure, but for Bonobos monkeys sex plays a huge part in their social groups, if they fihgt they dont hit each other and then have a big sex orgy afterwards to relieve the tension. They also just have sex a lot of the time just because it is fun and very benificial to a social group's tension, ie. if you dont care who your wife sleeps with cos you sleep with lots of people everyone is happy

Having said that Bonobos use sex to relieve social tension this is also done by humans to a degree, if you feeling frustrated or you are unhappy, sex can make you feel better.
In biological terms sex can not only be for procreation but also for the group's survival, if with less tension the group survives better and having sex relieves tension then having lots of sex is a good thing!

As humans, we have a higher conscience and think about what provides pleasure because we are usually beyond survival mode. Wild animals living in nature procreate by instinct. It has been built in by evolution, and because animals don't think with a higher conscience, chances are, they don't know what pleasure is.

A good number of animals only have sex for procreation. However, if you look up most dolphin species as well as several apes/monkeys you'll find they will have sex for almost all the same reasons humans do.

In most species, males have sex to try and get as many offspring as possible, so will have sex whenever they can, often with other species (cus they're dumb :)). So, it is not for pleasure only for increasing their probability of passing on their genes.
For females though there is often an associated risk with having sex (e.g. injury from the bigger male), and so they will only allow sex during their fertile phase - so it is only for the purpose of reproduction.
Only some species of dolphins and primates have sex solely for pleasure, as shown by them engaging in intercourse when there is no chance of producing offspring.

Yes, they do it for 'fun' too. Though, as you already point out in your question, it is hard to determine where the 'fun' starts and the social part of 'it' stops. But this has had some taboo on it so research is not been done very much.

Bonobo's do it... a lot. Dolphins do it. Rabits and cows do it.

It seems to be limited to mammals but come new research who knows what animals love it also.

Dolphins def do when not in 'season' part of socialising... friendly and sometimes not...

Could be sometimes a form of asserting dominance like rape.

Think various apes dop to... And how often does a dog try and hump your leg...?

Sex is not simply about procreation in humans... its an important part of socialisation, bonding (that covers things like blow jbs), control (principly females controlling males), unfortunetly also asserting dominance hence things like rape similar to bullying
