Yes but it will be a long time away. In 6 to 7 billion years, stellar evolution theory predicts our sun will evolve into a red giant and will probably completely surround the Earth. I don't think I will be around then.

I've noticed that things are constantly changing and never the same as it was a second, a minute, or a day ago. The seasons change, what's hip and what's not changes. Our belief system changed throughout history. The way the world is now, the way we live, the experience we taste, feel, sense each day, will never be again but simply a fading memory. To answer your question, the world may end as we know it as human beings, but it may be a beginning of something different. Makes you feel kind of lonely in this world as if you're the only one who feels this way about life. The solution true and everlasting love. With that, you make the world the way you want it, and you would not care so much about world coming to an end. It is an unknown that keeps us wondering and thus living.

If the sun wouldn't be replaced by another star for the next million years then the human race and all that comes with the world may come to its end. Without the sun, we wouldn't be able to have oxygen that can only be produced with the use of sunlight through photosynthesis.
