The reason why wasps easily find their way inside your house is because inside your house is bright espicially at night when your light is on. Wasps and small insects love light. When you turn on your light the wasps will be attracted and approach the light. The lights inside your house is brighter than the light outside. The reason why they cannot find their way out is because outside is dark., no attraction for them outside. Well, if you want them to find their way out, turn off your lights and keep your windows open to let them out. Now the lights outside is brighter than inside your house so much so that they try to go out and look for the light. Clear??

They happen in with the breeze, then do not have the ability to understand why they cannot penetrate what they cannot see ( glass). Best to leave them alone at that stage as their anger is at it's highest! Solution( the less painful one) is to point a fan in the generall direction of the exit. Wasp common sense will then take over.

very funny, a wasp will enter your house via an open door/window, as it flys around the house, it then gets confused by the light sources entering the rooms via the windows, he will home in on the light but can't fly through glass!!!

I don't know but it's good that way : you can trap them easily in a plastic bottle cut in 2 with sweet stuff at the bottom and the upper half upside down.
They come down and can't get out !
Mind you, your question applies to the flies too doesn't it ?
