I think the idea of "resurrection" fits neatly with the psychological process of growth.
Life seems to be a constant battle of "letting go," a slew of "little deaths" -- where we give up something that is bad for us or not quite as good so that we can move on to become someone better.
Change is literally the same as death -- when I change, the old self dies and the new self lives in its place.
If resurrection/rebirth does not exist, then death is death. There is no hope to live. We cannot afford to let go of who we are now, so as to become someone better, because we can't trust that it won't be "the end" of us.
But that's not what I've experienced. I see change as possible and preferable for maturity and happiness. Hence, I am partial to spiritualities that promote the idea of rebirth.
To me, it's simply a Truth of human existence.

Many believe it is so. I have yet to meet anyone that can truly tell me who or what they were in the life before. True or not if you believe it is so then that probably helps you cope with life today. I do not believe it is true.
