The majority of men need to meet you, then they would have a beautiful reason not to be.

This generalization is upheld primarily because of the way men are raised in the American culture (I'm assuming this is the area you live in). The traditional male stereotype is slowly changing, depending on what part of the United States you live in, but the generalization still exists. Social and personality psychological theory suggests that, on an extremely simple level, that men are raised to understand that they must be completely independent, provide for a family once they're of age, and that the world isn't fair. Given the above reasons, men tend to be proud, defensive, and, stubborn. Of course, a male doesn't have to be raised this way in his own home--it can come from advertisements, entertainment (TV/movies), friends, school, etc. This also explains why men tend not to ask for directions.

Please keep in mind, though, that this is a GENERALIZATION, and should not be adhered to. The "vast majority" of men are not irreparably stubborn. The stereotype is there for a reason, but finding guys who aren't stubborn isn't that hard. I promise. :)

There are levels of stubbornness. I have found that most women do not think highly about a man who "gives in" or does not voice his opinion and beliefs. Then, on the other hand, there are the guys that are so insecure that they can not move from a position lest they appear "weak" to those around them.

I think it's a fine line that we all walk every day.

Either that, or we are eating way too much sugar.

What men have you been around?? I think what you're running into is the male ego. That's a given. That is a God given instrument in the male psyche, just like the God given heart-felt part of a woman.

Don't try to compete with a man in your relationship with him, you won't win. A woman's make-up (psychological, emotional, social and spiritual) is attached to her heart, moreso than with a man.

When you say that to young women these days they get offended and start thinking, it means they are less than. No. It means come at men from another angle. Sheesh!!

If you're not connecting with the male people in your life, you have to learn their language. Whether you're mom, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, lover, friend etc. And each man is an individual, some less egostitical than others.

But sugar...testosterone runs DEEP!!

logic dictates that given the same facts we should all deduce the same conclusion. there for if you disagree with me it shows you are not thinking logically, (being blonde it is beyond your abilities) it is pointless compromising as this would mean accepting an untruth.

I am not sure it is stubblornness as much as it is a lack of ability to see what they should be doing. They are just in their own world.

Inertia. It's easier to stay the way we are than to change.
