The Indians did not have prisons, but they did punish within their tribes. The punishments were different things. The offender would have to pay the person he/she offended, If it was a lie, that was taken more seriously and the person who lied was exiled for a week or two with no provisions. This was to teach them to tell the truth. If it was murder, they were exiled, sometimes for life and sometimes for a certain period of time.
I am Native American. Trust me, if this Country were still run by the Native Americans it would be a MUCH better situation for all peoples!

I have no idea what your real question is....
No prison in USA before when it was only Indians here?
There was less crime, they were fairly peaceful among themselves. They did not have prisons, as such, since they just killed you if you did wrong, or attacked their nations.
Unfortunately, we don't have that situation any longer- people commit horrible crimes, and cannot just be put to death by others- we have to go through the system- which includes jails, courts, and prisons.

But the natives people also practiced very strict justice. You went against the tribe- you were either exiled or killed.
