Not all girls. My fiance of four years, still treats me like a princess and you best believe that if he treated me bad that i would leave him and never look back.

You're either really dumb or incredibly ignorant.

There are a number of reasons that girls stay with guys that mistreat them. It can be that they don't feel as if they deserve a nice guy. Not EVERY girl will put up with being mistreated. I had a guy push me up against a wall when I was younger and I punched him in the mouth. My boyfriend is fantastic and always has been! I just know what I deserve...

Don't be so closed minded.

For some women, being treated badly is all they know. Anyone who has had a "good life" can easily sit back and say that someone is crazy for allowing such behavior, however to the person in the situation, that is all they are worth. Low self-esteem, being emotionally/physically beaten down takes its toll. Sure these women dream of having someone in their life to treat them well. Perhaps they actually find it and walk away from it. What you aren't understanding is this: even though being treated well is something they want, it's not something they believe they deserve. It's very hard to convince someone of their worth if they are incapable of believing it.

I've read about this somewhere, and it's usually because they grow dependant on the mistreating. They start to think that the guy is nice to her but in the eyes of others, the girl is being mistreated.

It is usually hard to convince someone once they have grown attached to the bad guy to leave the guy.

For the same reason that kids cry and scream and beg their parents for a toy and never play with it when they get it home. We all want what we cant have that much more. A nice guy seems easy to get, but the @sshole is a challenge.

i overcame it! but it took some hard work. most of us have been brought up by dad's who were simply not existing or not able to show feelings towards their daughters.
and when we grow up we look for the same thing in a man, because that is the only thing we know.

girls: let's change our bahaving patterns! it's defenetly worth it!

oh and for another reason: we all still think people might change and WE (OMG!) can change the guy, because we will do everything that is nessecary - completely forgetting that we actually fell in love with a guy for who he is - we want to change him for who we want him to be.

that is not true about all girls. if a guy treats me bad I am so gone, right after I curse him out. I like nice guys.

Not always true, don't generalize. My husband treated me well when we were dating and he's still treating me well after 19 years of marriage!
