Well, the father is an overweight nincompoop, the mother is an emotionally unstable woman who refuses to admit that her family stinks, the eldest son is even dumber than his father, the infant in a genius with problems communicating properly to others, because they believe him to be an infant and nothing more, not to mention he thinks he's British and has issues with his mother. Don't forget the talking dog who has a thing for the mother of the family, and also drinks and smokes (That can kill an animal!) All in all, Meg is the only normal one of the family.

Because she is the middle child. They are following the publicly conceived cliche that the middle child receives the least amount of love and attention from the parents.

she's out of the normal from what her family and friends are which is demanding. they demand attention she does not but tries to get it which makes her look lame.
