"Once bitten twice shy" - yet i continue to 'trust' because i'd rather see the good in people first, at the onset, rather than putting up a defensive barrier as a general rule - trust me it's not easy but important for me as a person.
i have lost money through the years helping out friends and colleagues at the time - all 'disappeared' don't want to be found; but i accept it as part of human nature. i don't feel bitter about it only sadness because i would have preferred to have them stayed as friends.
Being cautious is wise but not to the point of skepticism and mistrust in a relationship before it has time to mature. The only motive or objective in seeking friendship is friendship itself; and the only purpose to love is love itself; accepting everything that invariably comes with it - pain and pleasure, happiness and sorrow. If you seek only the pleasure and the happiness then it's better not to love... because you won't really know what real pleasure and true happiness are all about - you haven't experience pain and sorrow.

Yeah! Trusting anyone(stranger) is a difficult thing n even it has become the most difficult thing in the present scenario of world, where a person has become multi-faced,means wot S/he is in front of u,it is not necessary dat S/he will remain the same 4 u forever. It might happen dat ur present best friend would become ur worst enemy within a few daz.So it is a difficult thing to judge a particular one.
But it doesn't mean dat u can't have fully trusted friend, its d way u r letting him or her in,in ur life matters.U can't make a final opinion abt any1 u meet 4 the fst time.So u shud make a general thought 4 all u meet 4 the fst time, and gradually, turn by turn, going thru different phases of life u shud change ur ideas and opinion in favour or in agnst of him/her.
Then finally u'll find ur "THE BEST FRIEND",wid whom u can share evrything, whom u can trust more than urself, and who will b more than ur loved one.

EVERYBODY has been in or is still in your shoes. People fail us ALL the time. Things get better as you get older and people feel less competative. One thing I try to remember is to not put all my eggs in one basket-One person can not meet all of your needs. Spread your needs and desires around among your friends. Find out who you can trust gossip with; and who you can trust your romance interests with; and who you can trust your shopping splurges with.
This too shall pass and Is part of LIFE. People fail us. I have also found faith and believe in something other than myself and other humans (God/Jesus). That helps me personally as God is the only thing that NEVER backstabbs etc.

I totally understand. Having been so terribly hurt in the past by others, I have a horrible time trusting others. But with Angel (my fiancee) I am learning how to trust again. It will come in time.

God, have I ever. The one thing you absolutely must not trust is your own government.
