It depends on what type of work you want to do. Masters degree adds on more money to your student loans but in certain fields is highly recommended. However, in some fields you could be viewed as overqualified with a Masters.

I would suggest performing some informational interviews with individuals in your career of choice. Find out what they recommend.

Oh-A Bachelor's degree is 4 years of college and a Master's is one or two years of additional education PAST your Bachelor's.

If you go to college for 4 years after you graduate from high school, you get a bachelor's degree. After you get your bachelor's degree, you can choose to get a master's degree if you want to study for 1-2 years more. So master's is by definition more advanced.

In my field (Electrical Engineering), a master's is practically required. With a bachelor's, you can only apply to the menial jobs, and you can't really advance. Also finding a job in the first place is much easier with a master's. There's no such thing as overqualified in Electrical Engineering...

Generally you can't be 'overqualified' though... If you really think the master's is hurting you, you can just leave it off your resume and not tell anyone about it... but I've never heard of someone being *too qualified*
