definitely get more RAM - at least 1gb, and 2gb if you can.
also, a 250gb hard drive would be useful, and quite cheap.
perhaps a new graphics card, 256mb....
or get a mobo that supports pci-express and sata hard drive, with 3.4ghz P4...

there would be 3 upgrades you could do with, firstly another 512mb ram would be a cheap upgrade, and a video card upgrade would be another
these two upgrades would be quite cheap as you can pick up memory for around £40 for a 512 mb module
and you can get a nvidia fx550 256mb ,which is better than the 9250 but can be bought for around £60
lastely if you can afford it,invest in a pci-express motherboard(with crossfire or s.l.i if possible),but if you do this ,you will have to pay alot more for your graphic card, but it will be worth it!

it all depends on what you do with it.
it if for games - then upgrade upgrade the gfx card and then the ram. Most games take the processor power from the card instead of the cpu anyway. upgrade the gfx card to a 9800 pro and you will notice a big difference ( i did).
you could also check belarc what you mother board is and find the info on the inter-net about your motherboard. that way you can check what fastest ram you can fit, ie ddr400 etc etc.
If you only have the basic sound card, you could upgrade that, worth a tiny bit.
if you don't want to spend - download atitool and see if you can overclock your current card, watch for temps though.
you could then defrag your drive to speed it up.
its all good and really fun upgrading it yourself.......have fun and good luck.

I would add another 512MB of RAM, get a 256MB AGP 8X video card, and add another SATA hard drive, say 250GB? Transfer the data from the 80 to the 250. Use the 80GB hard drive for backups.

Depends what your interested in using the computer for?
If you only use it for office based and web surfing then I wouldnt upgrade. Then again if you use it for gaming, I would put another 512mb of ram in (if this option is available) and also upgrade your video card
