How did caesar's death lead to the end of the republic?

He had been made dictator, but he was assassinated by a group of senators, which led to civil war. The faction that included supporters of the republic were defeated by the faction led by Caesar's grand nephew Octavian who became Emperor Caesar Augustus.

Ceasar, after claiming dictatorial powers, left a system in place which marginalized the Senate and turned the Republic of Rome into an empire. His policies in life is what lead to the demise of the Republic, not his death. The result of these policies were a string of successive de-facto dictators and military coups which fragmented the army, lead to over-printing of coinage (with overspending and hyperinflation), and Rome's continuing reliance on foreign conquest to maintain the economy.

The placing of power in one man lead to a succession of idiots being put in the spot of emporer, one even making his own race horse a Senator to show the senate exactly how important they were.
