If it is a CD-R then unfortunately no.

If it is a CD-RW (Re-writeable) Then yes you can use a burning program like Nero to erase the disk and start over from scratch. I believe the built in Windows XP burning feature may also work for this purpose. I think inserting it and then right clicking on the CD medium will give you an option to erase or format the disk.

if it is an cd-rw (rewritable) yes you can use nero or similar software if it is an cd r (recordable) then there no way to erase the data that is in there (you could try to scracth it with sandpaper though...heheheh)

if you are using CD-R then there is no way to erase the data no matter is what file inside.

if you plan to erase the data, I will recommand you buy a CD-RW is better choice.

and this save your cost for long term also...

If it is a rewritable one only then you can do so. Try using Nero

unfortunatley not, unless it was regular files, not music, but pictures and stuff, and it also has to be a rewritable disc....
